I did one Girl Scout overnight with my daughter and had a great time. She decided she wanted to try sleep away camp this summer (she is going into 5th grade). She signed up for two weeks not knowing anyone else going. She came home saying she is going at least 3 weeks next year and will probably be a CIT some day.

My third time at Camp Hoover, my troops first overnight. We stayed in Hernwood (I think its called) and was great. I always have a great time.
Nice eficiency cabins, plenty of activities for kids as: archery,crafts,marshmallows and singing, access to lake,friendly staff
I loved Girl Scout camp - so when my daughter had her chance, and came back feeling the same way as I did, I nearly cried. There's nothing like a sleepaway camp exp for building self confidence and maturity.
